The recent re-design of the DC Comics’ logo was received with a lot of hate. I don’t really understand the reasons for hating it, as I find it quite successful. I like the simple version of the logo, but it the branding applications that are really awesome.

EDIT: According to BrandNew and to neshill in the comments, HP has reacted to explain that this branding will not take effect, the images you see in this article are just a study by MovingBrands.

For its rebranding, HP chose the minimalist road. They kept the angle and vertical lines of the previous logo and removed pretty much everything else. Then the vertical bar is used everywhere in the branding applications. You can even see it on the printer’s side, so you’ll see the logo’s bar even when you can’t print in black and white because you have no more blue.

Amazon finally launched its long-awaited tablet, maybe the first serious competitor to the iPad. The tablet itself, named Kindle Fire, isn’t really competing with the iPad. It is smaller and has less functionalities, but it does most things that you could expect from a tablet: read books, watch movies, browse the web, or play games. It is a bit smaller that Apple’s tablet, but much, much cheaper. For only $199, you will be able to access the gigantic Amazon library and movie collection: 100’000 movies and TV shows at your fingertips.

The Kindle Fire was built on top of Android, but didn’t mention it much, Amazon even created its own web browser. To learn more and eventually pre-order your tablet, check out the following video and the product page on Amazon.
