Productivity specialist like to say that a clear desk reflects a clear mind, thus it will make you more productive. I tend to agree with them, but keeping your desk organized is not as easy as it seems. You need the right tools for the job, and as a designer you will probably want some good looking gadgets, which is exactly what I share in this post.

1. The mark brothers

Every time you need to unplug your desktop computer, or pretty much anything in a maze of cables, you think that you should get one of these. The mark brothers will hang on your cable and tell you what it’s connected to when you need it most.

2. Keyboard pirates

We already know that the word “pirate” can be used to talk about someone who shares files online. Now it can also be used for these little guys who cheer you up and remind you things around your computer.

3. Grid-it

A very cool and well-designed case to organize your gadgets and carry them around. Much needed by all people with too many gadgets, which means pretty much anyone nowadays.

4. Business cards filing cabinet

This is for the freelancers who didn’t forget to do their networking homework and end up with tons of business cards that they don’t know how to store. I just pile up business cards, so this may very well be for me.

5. Wall garden organizer

Perfect to keep an open desk and still stay organized. These wall gardens will also add a touch of green to your working environment, which is always nice.

6. USB flower hub

Give your USB hubs a Dutch look-and-feel with these cute tulips that will power your gadgets.

7. Space bar

If it wasn’t so expensive ($100), I would already own one of these space bars. The way it helps you to stay organized just matches my way of ordering things.

8. Helicopter Mechanical Paperweight

German designer Hervé Houplain’s Desktop Helicopter features four different colored ballpoint pens (black, red, blue, orange) disguised as the rotor, and a magnetic cockpit for collecting paper clips (five starter paper clips included).

9. Modo

This is the ultimate desktop organizing accessory. It combines several storing capabilities for all the little annoying things that tend to sit randomly on people’s desk: cables, notes, pens,…

10. SOTO II Mobile Caddy

Last in this list, this mobile caddy is probably what I need the most. Every time I take my notebook to the office, I get the bag in my feet, no matter how well I put it.
