Modern product design is often criticized for the lack of personality that comes with the smooth lines, clean material, and pure shapes that it often features. The Flowerman Vase is a good positive example of clean, modern design that acquires personality when used.

This project, by Japanese designers Ayumi Sakamoto and Tomomi Uchiyama, is vase with a minimal body shape that becomes lively once you put a flower in it. The mood and appearance of the flowerman evolves with the life of the flower. Once the flower goes down, the character looks more depressed, urging you to change flower quicker. This cool vase can be purchased on pa design’s website.
