George R. R. Martin recently wrote a blog post in which he explains how he envisionned the Iron Throne. In the popular TV show the Iron Throne is made of 200 swords, Martin imagined it much bigger and less comfortable.
He shared an illustration by French illustrator Marc Simonetti. I can imagine that it must be hard to create such a throne, but it would definitly have looked much scarier.
