Buddhist Grottoes with beautiful sculptures can bee seen in many Chinese provinces, often dated thousand years ago. They have often been subjected to the problems of history: wars, revolutions, or invasions. In hard times, many have been destroyed by combat or simply looted for their financial potential.

The Mingshan Temple’s grottoes in South-West China’s Sichuan province are a bit more special. They have been carved during Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty, but were not protected from the win and other natural wonders, so they took a new aspect that’s just as beautiful, although a bit more unusual.
