Open Color Standard: building an alternative to Pantone

It is currently work in progress, but the Open Colour Standard seems to be a great idea. It will allow free and open source apps to have full control over color schemes and swatchbooks, but also to get an alternative to pantone, even though it will take a long time to make its way in print design.
