If there’s one object that the collective unconscious could very quickly classify as one of the most traditional, or even obsolete for certain models, it’s certainly this one: the ring box, whether intended to mark an engagement, a wedding, or any other happy event, has that classic something that nevertheless makes up its entire identity. A young Polish designer has set out to break the codes where they are firmly entrenched. Here’s how.

His name is Tomek, he works under the name of Tomizo Design, is an architect by training and defines himself above all as “a creator at heart”. In the vein of Tesla’s Cybertruck, conceived by Elon Musk, the young designer hits hard with what he proudly presents as his first creation; a raw aesthetic, thought around the material, extremely resistant in appearance. The box is made entirely of neutral-tint anodized aluminum.

Tomek chose to call his creation To the Moon and Back, a name that echoes the English saying “Love you to the moon and back”, a symbolic expression that represented for him one of the most beautiful declarations of love. An extraterrestrial identity that he carried through to the packaging of the case -the case of the case, yes- which refers to lunar soil.

We often dwell on the ring, but much less on the case, which also has a story to tell, a particular aesthetic that Tomek has endeavored to convey. The case is already available for purchase, and has been for a few days, through a limited edition of 25 pieces.
