You’ve heard it over and over: you should backup your data frequently. Very good advice, but quite poorly followed, even by those who give this advice.

Until yesterday, I was backing up Designer Daily manually, every two weeks or so. In case of crash, I would probably still have long a week or two worth of hard work, which would be annoying. Unfortunately, hacking happens and it happens more often than you’d think. Server disasters also happen, even with good web hosts, so ultimately it is your responsibility to save your files and databases in case of crash.

With BlogVault I finally found the right solution. They backup Designer Daily automatically every several hours, and have a one-click restore functionality. Even better, you can test restore your backup on their servers if you are not feeling safe with their backup.

They have more cool features, such as their migration tool. If you are not a technical person and want to move your blog, their tool will make the process as easy as it can be. Also, you can download the backup at any time, or simply send it to your Dropbox from VaultPress’ interface.

So, want to start backing up your data now?
