I have no idea of the scientific value of this kind of projects, but I love to see some disruptive ideas being thrown at me. Sand Babel is a group of ecological structures in the shape of desert tornadoes. Built for scientific researchers and tourists, these buildings would be constructed with sand and printed with 3D printers.

It’s not likely that this project will see the light, but I’d love to see it in real. Via Yanko Design.
